Limites
What we will not ship.
Four decisions, taken once, written down so that they cannot quietly change later. Every one of them is a thing a competitor already sells, and three of them would be easy.

radios, and so no unmeasured delay

indicator LED, white, under the front edge
01
No SOCD resolution
An analog board can make two opposed keys cancel in a way no hand can. Several tournaments have banned it. It is trivial for us to implement, we have not, and the firmware refuses to load a layer that does it.
02
No wireless
2.4 GHz costs one to four milliseconds and the figure moves. A keyboard whose entire claim is that it measures time and distance honestly cannot also add a delay it does not report.
03
No per-key RGB
One white indicator strip under the front edge, for layer and rapid-trigger state. Instruments are not backlit in eleven colours.
04
No “8K mode”
The ÉTALON reports at 8 kHz all the time or it does not. A peak rate that needs a mode is not a rate, it is a headline.
Why write this down at all
Because every one of those four is a thing a competitor already sells, and three of them would be easy. The reason to publish the list is that a company which has not said what it will not do has not actually decided anything — it has only not got round to it yet.
If any of these changes, this page changes with it and says when and why. That is the only promise attached to it.
What is left
A keyboard that does what you did.
Take away the things on this page and what remains is a board that reports where your fingers are, very precisely, and nothing else. No light show, no radio, no key that plays a move you did not make.
